On a lazy friday evening I usually drink my few cidres and surf the net, because knitting under the influence of alcohol has proven to be a bad combination for me.

Well, anyway,  interesting stuff I found today:

I knit my first socks way back in junior high school - or to tell you the truth I fought through the first one half-way and mother knit the rest, and the second sock.

My second try with socks was just a few weeks back. I knit a sweet pair of baby socks, and asked who else but mother to show me the heel. Again, even though this time the knitting was not a pain but a pleasure, mother knit almost half of the socks.

This is my first attempt to knit up a pair of socks without help from anyone!

We do not only have interest to knitting, but animal welfare too. This is such a good idea from the World Society for the Protection of Animals:

My new job started last tuesday, and now I have to commute at the rush hour. It’s not far, but it’s still a 30 minutes spent in a glorious Dublin Bus. I decided that I need to get my yarn out of the closet and start knitting in public.

Yesterday I went to the library and decided to visit the nearby shopping centre, and wandered to a everything-for-cheap shop. Guess what I found there? You got it – novelty yarns, four balls for five euro. I resisted the urge and bought only four balls of “Shabby Chic” yarn in black; a pretty, soft eyelash yarn. With it I was planning to make a triangular funky shawl.
