In my last posting I said that the week had been bad. Well, the last one was worse. First on Sunday last I get the most terrible stomach problems I've ever had, and oh boy did the 3-meter walk to the toilet feel like the 1500 meter hurdles on Monday (no way I could have got myself to work in that condition).

By Tuesday I was feeling steadier, and Wednesday was ok. I worked from home on Thursday, and got a sore throat on that day too. I dragged myself to the office on Friday, and whaddayouknow, weekend was spent in bed.

We wanted to go to Kings of Concrete  on Saturday - forget about it. I wanted to get some knitting done, and blog about it - don't dream. Just stay in bed.

Socks

This week has been crap. Really stressful sometimes, sometimes very boring. Haven't really been keen on knitting - well I haven't actually been interested in anything this week. I hope for better times with more motivation and strength. I did buy a Spanish self-learn course today, so I'm sure that'll get me out of this slump. And! I'm going on a short holiday in 2 weeks. Can hardly wait.

Some sock joy to share anyway: I finished the second child's sock for my cousin's son. I just need to block them now.

Knitting Vintage socks

I got it! I found it! I've been trying to hunt this book down for a good while, and now I found it in Hodges Figgis bookstore!

Of course, It's bound to nearly disappear in my knitting chaos.

Here they are! My ready Rainbow socks. They came out pretty nice, the cuff is quite a lot tighter in the other sock... but I've decided not to mind.

I also heard that my cousin has just got a new baby, and that of course means I just absolutely must-need-have to knit her bootees, and socks for her 2-year-old big brother.

These bootees are just for practice, as I really didn't master them the first time...

I broke one of my 2mm bamboo needles, on which I'm knitting the Jaywalkers now. Well, I'll try to manage with one 2,5mm needle until I ger a chance to stock up on tiny needles again.

An Irish Pub in Dublin
An Irish Pub in Dublin

For once I had an active weekend, meaning I actually got out of the house, and did something else than knitting, blogging or reading at home. I met my cousin and her husband on Saturday, Nic wanted to come too but was busy. So the three of us went for few pints in the city centre.First we sat in a church that has been trasformed to a pub. No, that was a weird experience. I liked the pub, but the whole idea of drinking in a holy place did kind of freak me out.

The next one was much more traditional Irish pub with music and all. We had our third pint there, and after that it was alreadt time to get home.

Anklets

I finished my ankle socks (again...) and this time they're both knitted in similar gauge. I think they came out quite nice:

There's a photo of the very pretty heel in Summer of Socks Flicr site - I know I started these before the SOS started, but since I'm not counting them in to the most socks knitted (well, I'm not taking part!) I thinks it's ok.
