On the 4th of October the blogsphear protests for a free Burma, where civilians and even monks are shot and people are living in the daily fear of death. This since 1989!
The official protest coordination site is at free-burma.org. There is a mailinglist as well. Check out some graphics at the flickr group and place them on your website. It's time to show solidaraity for this people. At the Amnesty International site is an action letter which should be send forward to the Minister of Foreign Affairs at Myanmar.
Shirtsofberlin.com have designed some Burma t-shirts, and give a good part of the sales price to a charity active in Burma.
SOS 2007 ended on the 21st of September.
Here's what I have to show, more or less (not counting the baby socks or slippers).
The first two are the finished socks, after Read more you can see is 1,5 Jaywalkers socks.
Huom! Klikkaa kuvan päällä niin suurenee.
Here they are, our engagement rings. Me and Nick got engaged in July, but just last week the rings arrived. Aren't they gorgeous!
They're titanium and gold, and not so poshy and big as they usually like in Ireland. I personally find egg-sized-diamond engagement rings just ridiculous: it doesn't show the amount of love, just the desire to show others that one has money. And that desire is just something to laugh at if you ask me.
So ours are beautiful and precious without making a big number out of it.
The Dublin Knit Collective has announced a Flash your stash -yarn po*n show. I did flash once this year already, but anytime is the perfect time to show your greatest assets - your yarn.
So here it is! I put it all in a nice Flickr slideshow, as I had the stuff up there already. So see my stash!
Or, a part of it... it's missing the cotton yarn (a lot!), pretty much all of the novelty yarns in sample sizes (even more than cotton) and all the balls I'm working with at the moment, which is quite a few as well.
So Laura, go ahead and tell DH that at least one knitter is a worse (or worsted, hehe) stash hamster than you!
But I'm not too impressed... there's a few nice things there, but the rest--- no. Take a look.
Ok, there's the Henry. This is actually cool. I won't knit it though, I don't see any point in knitting something that looks like woven just because it's more"manly" and "suitable" for a man.
Tussie makes everyone big-in-the-middle look really fat. So does Cherie and Boxed. I have enough in the middle, I don't need anything extra knitted to emphasize it.
finished the first Sauna-sukka, and it's gorgeous! I cast on the second right away. The pattern is fun, and the socks are so soft and lovely.
Sain ensimmäisen Sauna-sukan valmiiksi. Se on ihana! Aloitin toisen saman tien. Malli on hauska, sukat pehmeät ja ihanat.
