As you may have noticed, I haven't been blogging or knitting too much lately because of the move. Well tomorrow morning it will happen - and I will have officially left Ireland.
This is just to say it might take another week or two before I get back on my usual blogging schedule. So please do check back, I have ordered some new gorgeous yarns and have some socks on the go - I'll show them to you as soon as I can.
In all this moving hassle I am really not getting any knitting done. That, and all my yarn is already packed away! One of the last WIPs not in the cartons yet became a FO on Sunday.
This is the smaller version of my Emerald string bag.
Needles: 3,5mm and 15 mm. Yarn: Lidl's Zettl cotton sheen, a basic cotton with some nice glittery sheen! Colour turqoise - it's gorgeous! Started late May, finished 15th June.
What a lovely day it was! I first started off with the wrong foot by knitting for 30 minutes in front of the wrong gazebo. Only when I took a stroll around the park I found the actual gathering. We were first at the band stand, but then the band came and we moved to the lawn to enjoy the music (which was very good!) At one point some drops of rain came down, but they soon gave up as we refused to budge.
There was a good turnout, at one point I counted 27 knitters! I also met another Finn on holiday, which was nice as I am usually the sole Nordic knitter in the Dublin groups.
We're moving from Ireland to Germany at the end of June, so my knitting time / passion has been greatly reduced in the last week. All my time seems to go to packing and organising.
I am trying, though! As the Emerald string bag became popular right away (yay!), I decided to do the smaller version too.
I also managed to attach some buttons to the long-since-finished baby cardi, which I plan to give to my cousin's little daughter who will be 1 year old in a week's time.
