Look, look, Sinéad nominated me for a blog award "I love your blog". How cool is that! I'm really happy, as I've never received a blog award before.
The rules of this award are:
1- Post the award on your blog.
2- Add a link to the person who gave you the award.
3- Nominate at least 4 other bloggers and add their links.
So, I will nominate 2 Finnish and 2 English speaking blogs! They will be Pohjis, Muoriska, Jikiknits and Lien, all lovely blogs I read often.

I feel like a good person sometimes, especially when I've been working on my charity knitting. Last weekend I finished another pair of preemie socks (that makes 4 pairs altogehter) for the ongoing charity and some mice to be sold for the benefit of the local animal shelter "Tierheim Essen" They now just need to be felted and filled with a jingle bell and some stuffing.
They're made with different sizes of needles and different leftover yarns, and the pattern is from Kitty Knits be Donna Druchunas. They are so quick to make! I will make at least four more, after that I will need to buy more jingle bells, but there's no problem in that.
I have been knitting a lot, but I finishing little... Lately I've been starting a thing every couple of days, and the WIPs are starting to fill the place up! I have finished some small things, though, like another pair of preemie socks and a scarf.
The socks are 28 stitches around, with a short row heel, and 2,5 mm needles. The yarn is Lana Grossa Meileinweit Magico, the first ever sock yarn I bought!
The scarf is from Stitch and Bitch Nation, the "Yo, Drop it!" scarf. The yarn is a local cheap brand novelty yarn (got it on discount, 99cents per ball!). The scarf took 1,5 balls, so that's one inexpensive scarf! It was knit in two nights on 8mm needles.
Just to let you know, I have added many new hoodies and other autumn/winter suitable items in both my main shops - for US and Canada the address is shop-us.worsted-knitt.net, and for Europe shop-eu.worsted-knitt.net. Go check them out.
During September there's even a sale in the US/CAN shop - free shipping on orders over 30$! Just give the code at checkout:
US: OKTOBERSHIPPING08
CAD: CADOKTOBERSHIPPING08
Also remember, if you like the designs but not the products / colours available, let me know and I can easily make your dream product available. This goes for US and EU.
For Sukkasato-KAL and at the same time for charity I have made some more socks.
One pair of preemie socks, and one pair in children's size - maybe 3-4 years old? The kid's sock pattern is my own, and I will propably write it up soon. It's nothing especially new, but I find them pretty.
The yarn for these is from a pair I knit for Nick last Christmas. He wore them for a while, but they then became quite droopy. The last hit was that the other sock went missing during our move. So I ripped the remaining sock. I'm sure I will get at least one pair of preemie socks out of it still!
I had an interesting discussion with a collague today, he was telling me about a vegetarian couple he knows, and that their 5-year-old is also being raised vegetarian.
Then he went on to say that people (even this kid) should be able to decide what they eat. Apparently the parents deny this kid meat also during visits to granma's etc. My collague's main argument was that kids should't be denied this kind of thing, but let them decide themselves.
So, for the Sukkasato knitalong there's finally something finished to show in - the children's lace socks (which I call Pretty socks - you can see what I mean) plus a teeny weeny pair of preemie socks for the German ongoing charity project at www.fruehchenstricken.de. I have to say that ball of Regia has been plentiful - three pairs of socks from one ball!
Next, some things I'm working on for Christmas and birthday presents for my family. So if you are family - don't look!

I joined another fun sock knit-along Sukkasato (that's Finnish for Sock Harvest) - which runs September and October. It's Finnish, and the sign-ups are closed, so don't feel bad if you missed it. However, I especially like the fact that children's socks count, and that people are encouraged to knit for charity. I have lots of sock yarn rests, which make perfect children's socks.
In the picture you can see my first pair - children's and most likely for charity! The yarn is Regia Arctic in yellow - I had maybe 30 grams left from the Carolina socks I made for my cousin a while back.
I will be posting my finished socks in Heinälato, the sub-blog of Sukkasato, but being hasty as I am I wanted to show the WIP too!
As a side note, I have finalised my Christmas knitting list, and have started to work through it!
