I was reading Minimalist Knitter's (aka Robyn's) site as I often do and came across her newest charity endeavour: participating in Knit a Squillion action by Knit a Square.
Their ambitious plan is to to send 1,2 million squares to South Africa by July 10, 2012.
I mean: wow. 1,2 million squares will make blankets for 36.000 children in need. I thought: I want to participate in this!
Although I haven't been blogging much, I've been a busy bee - I signed up to a gym to try it out for this month, so I have been going there pretty much daily. I also have finished my first six squares for the Knit a Squillion action, for which I committed to knit 25 squares this year.
I'm happy! You know why? Because CanarySanctuary (aka Teresa Gregorio, a talented designer whom I interviewed in May included me in her Indie Designer Day on Friday! Read the lovely post on her blog. I'd better get something new design-wise out there, I think...
Motivation is really a funny thing. Once something really gets you moving, there's no stopping it. If you have two motivators pushing you towards the same goal, you can accomplish anything.
Like 16 squares in a week.
Ok, now for something completely different. You may know I don't crochet, at least very, very seldom. Anyhow, many of the visitors that find their way to worsted-knitt.net via a search machine, are actually looking for "crochet pencil case pattern"! Why is that?
Sometimes knits just don't get blogged, you know what I mean? I finish a FO, take pictures, crop them to the correct size... and never blog about the FO.
I don't mean to do it, but I do. So that means you get to see FOs finished several months ago, too. My apologies. But perhaps as these knits are new to you, you won't mind too much? Especially in this case, because the FO is just so gorgeous!
