Knitting Blog Week Last Day - Yarn!

Oh, yarn. How do I love thee, let me count the ways! As you can see, a lovely yarn is the last theme of the great Knitting & Crochet Blog week.

Now this is a really difficult subject - I have so many lovely yarns I could present! But I took a long hard look at my Ravelry stash and decided to choose Marks & Kattens Eco Ull.

I first was introduced to this yarn some years back, as I received two balls of it in a swap. I ended up making Nick Dashing mitts out of it. He didn't like them so much, so mostly I wore them! But I had noticed I like the yarn, plus it was not dyed and organic as well, that is representing my values rather well.

I then, in 2008, visited Creativa, a local craft fair, and was able to obtain over a kilogram of Eco Ull at a very cheap price. I knew it would be a sweater one day, but didn't know that "one day" was over a year ahead! It did become a sweater in 2010 - the Owls.

That didn't take all of the yarn, so I still have a lot of it in stash. I'm not sure should I make another sweater or just use it for smaller projects. What would you do and/or recommend as patterns for this yarn?

Marks & Kattens Eco Ull is an aran weight yarn and should be knit on 5,5mm needles. It comes in 50 gram balls which have 82 metres of yarn in them (that's 90 yards). It consists of organic wool and about 20% of organic merino. From what I've heard, the wool comes from New Zealand and the yarn is spun in Germany.
