The story of stuff

I stubled across this page today, and was so impressed that I decided to share it with you. It's called www.storyofstuff.com and it comprises of a 20-minute video and accompanying information.

The video is about consumption: where our stuff comes from, how it's made, how we consume it and the toss it. The video shows this ever-growing consuming chain's true cost to the world. That ain't no pocket money, I'll tell you that!

Annie Leonard talks in clear words about how the idea of consuming as a higher good came to be after the WW2, and how it's ruined the planet and its people's happiness. Her message is also shown as lovely and very fitting animations. After you've watched the film, you can browse the page and find good tips on what you and I can do to stop this train of desctruction.
