There are a few knitters I follow regularly online: read their blogs and follow them on Twitter. Minimalist Knitter (aka Robyn Devine) is one of these people. Her blog is lovely, her goals are inspiring and the content she writes is useful and interesting.
I love the different kinds of pattern reviews people make, like the Free Pattern Friday by Katie or What's hot on Ravelry by Ariane, so I decided to start my own!
A while back I made a lot of baskets for the home - one of the green ones now holds (some of) my knitting, the other is used for Wii gear, and a few small ones I never blogged about are being used by my DH. These baskets have come in so handy, I decided to make one more for my "stuff". This is what I created.
I am very delighted to present my second ever Designer of the Month interview with no less than Donna Druchunas herself! Donna has been one of my favourite designers since her book Kitty Knits came out a few years ago (I've also written a book review on it).
Welcome to the part two of my FO hat show, where I present two more of my recent FO hats! In the first part I showed you one hat for my MIL and one for chcarity. Of these next two hats one went to my MIL, too, and the other one to my colleagues to-be-born-any-day-now son.
I've been making a lot of hats lately! I'd like to share them with you - here are the first two.
The first gorgeous tam is for my mother-in-law, who's had it a bit rough with her health and has had some of her hair removed recently. To cover and keep warm the bald spots she wished for some knitted hats. I decided to make a few for her to choose from - this is my first try.
Look at these pretty scarves! They're all made exclusively with reused yarn and scarps and half-balls from my stash.
Maybe you can recognize the purple yarn? I ripped my Hug shrug, which was finished in 2008 and after that was worn less than 10 times altogether. It's now been reworked into 1 1/2 scarves which I will be donating to the homeless people in Duisburg, a neighbour city where an active knitter has organised a collection for warm knits for the homeless this winter.
I'm very glad to announce a new feature to worsted-knitt.net - the monthly Designer of the Month interviews with different kinds of knit designers; new and established, clothes, accessories and toys, for young and old, I plan to include a broad variety of designers and present them to you one by one, every month from now on! I hope you like the series!
I had a lot of bulky wool blend yarn at home, but nothing to knit with it. So I whipped up these Chubby Cat Hats to be donated to charity! Here's the pattern to them for you.

I love my local animal shelter for being able to use almost whatever I knit, including simple shawls, which they sell at the fundraising events and "open doors days". Very delicate, complicated shawls are not suitable, because due to the amount of work and material they require, they would cost too much for the audience generally visiting the events. Small shoulder shawls, made with less than one 100g ball of sock yarn, using a simple stitch pattern however is the perfect product - useful, beautiful even though simple, and more interesting to buy than a pair of socks for example!
